This week, I joined radio shows across the great State of Georgia, taking caller questions about a group I'm proud to be a part of, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Caucus. It is important that we end waste, fraud, and abuse in our government, and House Republicans are working hard to help DOGE be successful in its mission.
In case you missed it, here are the highlights:

Rep. Carter Joins the Martha Zoller Show
ON THE DOGE CAUCUS
"We all know that this is something the President campaigned on. He said we’re going to be more efficient. We are going to cut out waste, fraud, and abuse and this is the way he’s delivering that."
"[Congress is] going to be taking what Elon Musk and DOGE uncover and send to us and we’re going to act upon it. So, that’s what the DOGE Caucus is about."
"We want this once and for all taken care of."
"We’re saving taxpayers' money. And taxpayer money is Democrats' money, it's Republicans' money, it's independents' money. It’s not one party’s money, it’s all of our money."
ON THE SWAMP ACT
"One of the things I’m working on is called the SWAMP Act—Stop Wasteful Allocation of Money to Pelosi."
"A perfect example is in San Francisco, in Nancy Pelosi’s district, where there’s a government building that is severely underutilized. Built in 2007, it cost $144 million, and now it sits mostly empty."
"The SWAMP Act would sell off these underutilized assets to stop wasteful spending."

Rep. Carter joins The World Famous Butch and Bob Show
ON THE DOGE CAUCUS' RESPONSIBILITY
"Elon Musk and his team are charged with finding the problems. Now, we're the ones in Congress who have to codify them. If it's going to get fixed, we're the ones who have to add the rules, regulations, and legislation to fix it."
ON WASTEFUL SPENDING
"I mean, you know, some of this stuff is ridiculous."
"The money is going overseas to places I've never heard of and for reasons that are just unbelievable."
"Millions of dollars have already been discovered—well over a billion dollars—and Elon Musk has said that he thinks they can find over a trillion dollars through this process. I think he can too."
"I think it’s important for us to ask—is this really necessary? I mean, with a country that's $36 trillion in debt, a country that’s now paying more in interest on our debt than on defense, is this really where we need to be spending our money?"
"Look, this is all of our money. We've got a bloated bureaucracy, and anytime you have a government this big, you’re going to have waste, fraud, and abuse. I pay my taxes, you pay your taxes, and I want to make sure our money is being used wisely."

Rep. Carter joins the John Fredericks Show
ON ELIMINATING THE IRS
“President Trump has said that he’s going to send the 80,000 IRS agents that the Biden Administration wanted to hire, he’s going to send them down to the border...I said ‘Mr. President, I can do you better than that. I can send all the IRS agents down to the border, because if we pass the Fair Tax, you won’t need the IRS anymore.'”

Rep. Carter joins Scott Ryfun
ON THE MISSION OF DOGE
“DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency, let’s make sure we understand; this is really nothing new. I mean if you will remember back, Scott, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, both of them wanted to cut the size of government."
"We’ve got a bloated bureaucracy; I think everyone recognizes that. And we need to cut back on government. Our forefathers never intended for it to be as big as it is. And any time you have as big a government as we have, you’re going to have waste, fraud, and abuse."
"In steps Elon Musk, with 21st century technology, to look at these things and to uncover the waste, the fraud, the abuse, and already he and his team have discovered well over $100 billion worth of waste."
“They uncovered that there were so many people around 100 – 136 that were still getting Social Security, and those people ought to be in the Book of World Records. There was one that I think was 326 years old and that’s the kind of thing that we need to stop.”
"It’s taxpayers’ money…It’s my money, it’s your money, it’s Democrats’ money, it’s Republicans’ money, why wouldn’t we be applauding someone who’s uncovering the waste of our taxes? I don’t care who you are, you don’t want your tax money wasted.”
"USAID, you know they were sending $2 million for sex change and LGBT activism in Guatemala. $2 million! Now, you know, in Washington we talk in billions and trillions, but $2 million is a lot of money! They were sending $6 million to fund tourism in Egypt, over $4.5 million to combat disinformation in Kazakhstan…That’s a lot of money! And all of this is taxpayers’ money."

Rep. Carter joins Scott James on 92.1
ON DOGE FINDING WASTE, FRAUD AND ABUSE
“We’ve got a bloated bureaucracy. It’s too big.”
“I appreciate DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency. I appreciate them using 21st century technology to find out where’s the waste.”
“Should we be sending $2 billion to Stacy Abrams and her group whenever they’ve only gotten $100 in revenue in the past? I’m going to question that; I don’t know about you.”
ON UNUSED FEDERAL BUILDINGS
“These assets, if we’re not going to use them then we might as well divest ourselves of them. They’re not doing any good. We’re having to maintain them…Finally we have a businessman in office who’s going to run [the government] like a business.”
ON THE ELIMINATING THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
“I personally think it’s a great idea, because I’m excited and I think it pushes education back down to where it should be, and that is at the state and local level, not the federal level.”
“I am honored to be a part of this effort because I think it is historic.”
