Legislative Update

Check out my video update filmed last Friday! We’re now at the midway point of the legislative session, and this past week marked a major shift at the Capitol—the House is officially tied at 67-67 following the special election in Roseville. With this tie, every committee is now evenly split, and no bill can move forward without bipartisan support. That means the way we govern has to change. Collaboration isn’t optional—it’s necessary.

Right now, one of the biggest challenges we need to tackle is the impact of unfunded mandates—whether it’s on small businesses, schools, local governments, or taxpayers, these burdensome policies have been piling up, and now, with a $6 billion budget shortfall, we’re facing serious funding questions. We need to come together, have real conversations, and find solutions that work for all Minnesotans.
