The Great Minnesota Get Together kicks off this week. And just like last year, I want your vote on which new food I should eat.

Tina Smith

Friend,

I am so excited for the Minnesota State Fair!

I cannot wait to check out my favorite vendors, see familiar faces at my team's booth, and explore what's new on the fairgrounds. But most importantly, I love trying out all of the delicious food that the state fair has to offer.

I am going to be honest with you, I had so much fun last year when you decided what food I tried at the fair. So much so that we're doing it again this year!

Cast your vote for what I should try at the state fair this year -- afterwards we'll send around a video of me eating (or drinking) at the booth of our winner!

Here's a little more detail about the items on my short list:

  • Grilled Sota Sandwich: Cinnamon nut butter and Minnesota blueberry marmalade served warm on Irish soda bread
  • Nordic Strawberry Blonde Ale: This easy-drinking berry brew is made for Minnesota Nordics -- it’s light, smooth and refreshing
  • Nordic Waffles in Pebbles and Bam Bam: Fresh-made waffle wraps with warm Reese's chocolate peanut butter cups and fruity cereal
  • Jamm'in Brisket Grilled Cheese: Slow-smoked brisket, red onion jam, cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, and RC's hot bbq sauce
  • Kora's Cookie Dough: Serving deep-fried chocolate chip cookie dough and five flavors of cookie dough on a stick
  • Turkish Pizza: A Turkish-style cracker-thin flatbread topped with spicy minced beef, onion, tomato, lettuce, cucumber salad, parsley, fresh herbs, a squeeze of lemon and garlic sauce, then rolled or folded

Remember, there are no bad choices in this mix. Some food on a stick options, some twists on the classics, and some totally original additions.

I still have my eyes on enjoying some fried green tomatoes, but that's a given. I want to get a taste for what's new!

Let me know what you think looks good! Vote before the fair kicks off on Thursday.

Thanks and I hope to see you there,

Tina
