  • STATE: TAKE ACTION ON KEY BILLS DURING VETO PROCESS ASAP!
Kentuckians for the Commonwealth recommends actions for the following bills per their March 21st email:

    • House Bill 4 would disrupt college, university, and vocational school students’ learning by denying them the services they need to thrive on campus and pursue the careers they want. Governor Beshear has vetoed this attack on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Call the Legislative Message Line at 800-372-7181 or 866-840-6574 for the Spanish-language line. Leave a message for your senator and representative to uphold the veto.*

    • House Bill 137 would restrict the ability of Kentuckians to collect data and report on the air quality in their own communities, making it harder to hold polluters accountable. This bill is on the governor’s desk now. Call (502) 564-2611 and ask Governor Beshear to veto HB 137.*

    • Senate Bill 89 would end protection for all groundwater – the source of drinking water for nearly 2 million Kentuckians – and headwater ephemeral streams that are critical for slowing floodwaters, filtering pollutants, and supporting aquatic ecosystems. This bill is on the governor’s desk now. Call (502) 564-2611 and ask Governor Beshear to veto SB 89.*
