Dear John:

It is such an honor to represent the people of the Seventh District in our nation's Capitol. And I am so grateful to have so many state legislators by my side representing them in St. Paul. This week, my office got together with the other representatives from the area for lunch to catch up on what the biggest issues are, as well as the great work being done in western Minnesota.

Feeing Our Future Fraud Conviction

This week, Aimee Bock and Salim Said were finally convicted for their roles in the astounding $250 million fraud case, the largest pandemic fraud case to date. While claiming to serve millions of meals to children in need during the COVID pandemic through the Federal Child Nutrition Program, they were actually using the money for their own selfish purposes. Among the convictions were wire fraud, bribery, and money laundering.

Defrauding the government and misleading those who thought they were helping children during the pandemic is truly evil. This Administration, and House Republicans, are committed to making it harder for criminals like these to defraud the government, including through SNAP reform.

Traveling Around the 7th District

Thank you to all the kind people I met at the Browns Valley Health Center! I will keep fighting for our care facilities, rolling back misguided regulations and working towards meaningful solutions to the work force shortage the industry continues to face.

I had a great time touring Minn-Dak and talking with so many people involved in the co-op’s work. I will continue working to build on the successes of the crop insurance program this Congress.

Thank you to the Perham Rotary for letting me join their meeting. I was glad to share all that we’re working on in Washington and have a good discussion with the group.

Thank you to Center for the American Experiment for the lively conversation and good questions this week.

It was great talking with officials from Perham to share updates on what’s been going on in D.C. and what they’ve been working on in their region. Thanks for taking the time!

Thank you so much to everyone Good Samaritan and Care Providers of Minnesota who met with me at Good Samaritan in Battle Lake for the tour and the policy discussion. And I am honored to accept the Public Official Award!

Calling All High School Artists

I encourage high school students from Minnesota’s Seventh Congressional District to participate in the annual Congressional Art Competition. This longstanding, non-partisan tradition is a wonderful opportunity for students from across the district to showcase their creativity and hard work. Winners will have their work on display in my Moorhead, Willmar, and Washington, D.C. offices, and the first place winner will have their work hung in the U.S. Capitol, where it will be seen by members of Congress, staff, and thousands of visitors from across the world.
