John,
After the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, David McAtee and far too many others, Americans are taking to the streets to protest police brutality, state violence against Black lives, and the continuing racial disparities in healthcare, education access, and so much more. As President Trump continues to use tear gas against protesters for fake photo ops and attempt to incite racial violence against Black protesters and members of the press, more and more Americans are turning to their state and local leaders for guidance.
Our Black LGBTQ leaders are among those who continue to stand against Trump and agitate for real change. We invite you to join us for Confronting Racism and Police Brutality in Our Cities [[link removed]] at 3pm ET this afternoon on Facebook Live [[link removed]] . Hear from Colorado state Representative Leslie Herod , Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin , Cambridge City Councilmember E. Denise Simmons , and Omaha Public School Board President Marque Snow on their work to combat racism and an update on the protests in their cities.
