Hi folks, it’s Ghazala Hashmi, the Democrat running for Virginia Lt. Gov. During the Virginia legislative session last month, I introduced a bill to protect the right to access contraception. |
This bill would improve the lives of Virginians across the commonwealth And with Donald Trump and the Supreme Court giving indications they might “revisit” the 1965 Supreme Court decision that gave Americans the right to access contraception, it’s more important than ever. We know this is a bill that would help a lot of people. So there should be no question about whether or not Gov. Youngkin signs this bill.
But unfortunately, we’re not sure where the Governor will come down on this critical piece of legislation. And that’s why I’m running for office.
Virginians deserve to know that their leaders are looking out for them – not just looking to push Trump’s extreme agenda on our commonwealth.
As Lieutenant Governor, I will always look out for the best interests of the people of Virginia – and I am committed to making sure every single Virginian knows I have their back.
