Trump and his MAGA allies know they can’t dispute the facts on climate change — so they’re continuing to silence scientists.
Trump’s administration is planning to cancel its lease at a critical government lab in Hawaii, which supports research on skyrocketing greenhouse gas levels. This lab is connected to the Mauna Loa Observatory, where scientists track atmospheric carbon dioxide to produce the Keeling Curve — one of the most important climate data sets in the world. Without it, we’ll lose crucial insight into how fast the climate crisis is accelerating.
SEEC members Jared Huffman (CA-02) and Maxine Dexter (OR-03) aren’t standing by. Alongside their colleagues in Congress, they’re demanding answers from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and fighting to keep this research alive. SEEC members are working every day to protect climate programs, strengthen environmental protection, and push back against the Trump administration’s anti-climate agenda, but we need your help.
Trump and his allies know the truth isn’t on their side. But with your help, we’ll keep fighting for science, for facts, and for our future.
