Millions of Americans rely on Levothyroxine Sodium every single day to treat hypothyroidism. It's one of the most commonly prescribed medications in the country, and yet, thanks to the bureaucratic mess, access to this essential drug is at risk. But now, a bipartisan group of lawmakers is stepping up to fix the problem before it spirals out of control. Congressman Andrew Garbarino (R-Bayport), along with Representatives Tom Suozzi (D-Glen Cove), and Diana Harshbarger (R-TN-01) have reintroduced the Ensuring Access to Essential Drugs Act, a straightforward bill aimed at protecting access to vital medications while ensuring American manufacturers aren’t crushed under unnecessary regulations.
