This is the best book I’ve read so far this year. Not because it’s trendy or philosophical or intellectually pretentious. But because it’s a true story that is almost (almost) unbelievable. Becket Cook was a gay man in Hollywood. That’s obviously not the surprising part. But on a Saturday almost 11 years ago, while drinking coffee at one of his favorite Hollywood hangouts, a stranger invited him to church. He went, got saved, burst into tears, gave up his gay identity, lost his job, changed his entire life. You know, just your average weekend. Read “A Change of Affection” to get the full story. And get ready to be amazed by our great God who is still in the business of saving lost souls...even unsuspecting gay atheists doing brunch.

The Bible is full of stories about violent acts done in God’s name, but Jesus presents an alternative during His stay on earth: acting as a healer rather than a warrior.
