It’s been over four months since Election Day, and there’s only one race in America where November’s results haven’t been certified — because North Carolina Republicans keep trying to steal a seat on the state supreme court.

The right-wing candidate, Jefferson Griffin, lost at the ballot box.

His loss was confirmed in a recount.

His loss was confirmed again in a second recount.

But he’s challenging the ballots of over 60,000 North Carolina voters to try to overturn his defeat.

And he’s brought his case to the North Carolina Court of Appeals — where judges he serves alongside just heard oral arguments.

The North Carolina Democratic Party is still fighting tooth and nail to uphold the will of the people, and supporters like you are helping draw public attention to this crisis. That’s critical, because if Republicans succeed in stealing this election, they will export their blueprint to try to overturn votes everywhere.

It’s outrageous enough to try to silence one voter, let alone tens of thousands. And it defies the basic principles of democracy to let a candidate cherry-pick whose votes will actually count.

The voters whose ballots Jefferson Griffin is trying to throw out are disproportionately Black and disproportionately young.

We’re certainly used to MAGA Republicans trying to suppress the votes of people they deem undesirable — but it never gets any less appalling.
