Dear John,
Tonight’s “How the climate movement can show up for Black Lives” mass training is shaping up to be one the biggest ones in our movement’s history. Already 2251 people have signed up to join, and we just got some exciting news: Kentucky Senate Candidate Charles Booker. He’s the real deal and we’re very excited to have him joining.
Charles has been on the frontlines of the uprising in Louisville, KY where Breonna Taylor and David McAtee have been killed by the police in the last month. He’ll be talking about his experience on the ground in Kentucky and what he’s taking away from the past two weeks. He’ll also share how he and his campaign has been mobilizing to respond to this moment while also talking with hundreds of thousands of voters.
Sign up now to join tonight at 8pm ET.
Surprise guest aside, the rest of the call will go as planned, we’ll cover:
- Why it’s essential that the climate movement show up in this moment
- Where you can find out about what’s happening near you
- How to show up in a way that is strategic, safe, and respectful, with insights from experienced direct action trainers
Can we count on you to join us tonight and share the link with your friends and family in and outside of Sunrise?
As Varshini said yesterday, we are a nation at a crossroads. If Trump and the forces behind him prevail in this moment, our chances of taking the kind of action we need on climate are essentially zero. The climate movement can’t afford to sit this one out and we need all hands on deck at this moment.
