![]() As the daughter of a veteran, I understand the commitment our nation’s heroes bring to everything they do. Their resilience, courage, and determination inspires my work every day in Congress — which is why I’ve proudly worked to ensure our nation’s veterans receive the support they deserve. Earlier this year, the House passed my bipartisan bill, the Successful Entrepreneurship for Reservists and Veterans (SERV) Act. This legislation aims to support veteran small business owners by identifying the unique challenges they face and improving access to existing veterans’ programs.
My mother served in the Army for twenty years, and her service taught me the principles of honor, sacrifice, and dedication to our country. After everything our nation’s veterans have done to defend our country, advance the values of freedom across the globe, and keep the American people safe, we must have their backs. And that’s exactly why the Trump Administration’s crusade to fire over 80,000 Veterans Affairs workers is so disappointing. Through their countless sacrifices, our nation’s veterans have earned a lifetime of high-quality care and support from their government. But by firing thousands of high-performing VA workers, the Trump Administration is putting that care into jeopardy — undermining the very mission of the VA. This isn’t complicated: Our government needs to do everything in its power to offer more support to our nation’s veterans, not rip their life-saving care away.
