Welcome to our Team Tillis newsletter, where we discuss what Thom has been up
to from the campaign trail to Capitol Hill, and everything in between!

Friend,

Thom has been back home in North Carolina this week, meeting with donors,
supporters, and other lawmakers—gearing up for what will be a hard-fought race
for re-election. One thing is clear: North Carolinians want a proven
conservative leader who delivers results and supports President Trump’s
priorities.

Next week, it’s back to business in Washington, where Thom will continue
fighting for the America First agenda. Confirming more Trump administration
nominees, including the next Secretary of the Navy, will take up much of the
week.

Stay tuned for more updates from the Hill and North Carolina!

Legislative Highlights: Thom Reintroduces Bipartisan Legislation to Help Find
Missing Persons on Federal Lands

This week, Thom worked with several of his Senate colleagues to introduce the
TRACE Act, bipartisan, bicameral legislation that would require the DOJ to
include an additional category to the existing National Missing and
Unidentified Persons Systems database so the public and law enforcement
partners can denote cases where the person went missing or was identified on
federal land—including by providing specific location details.

Here’s what he had to say about this important bill:

“Every year, thousands of people go missing on public lands without being
recorded in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System,” Thom said.
“This oversight is impeding law enforcement from keeping track of those who go
missing to help search and rescue efforts. I’m proud to lead this bipartisan,
bicameral legislation so these cases can be added to the database and
potentially save hundreds of lives in the future.”

The bill also requires the DOJ to submit an annual report to Congress on the
number of cases of persons missing on public lands or suspected of going
missing on public lands from the previous year.

The Trump Effect: Furniture Company Moves Production From Canada to North
Carolina

Great news for North Carolina: Prepac Manufacturing Ltd. announced the closure
of its plant in Delta, British Columbia—adding that all manufacturing will
shift to a facility in North Carolina.

President Trump has been leading the fight to bring more jobs and
opportunities back to the U.S., and this is a prime example of the incredible
impact he’s making. North Carolinians will enjoy an economic boost from this
move, which will likely encourage other companies to follow suit.

As Thom has said in the past, America should be on a level playing field when
it comes to production. That will mean more jobs and higher wages. Protecting
our competitive edge is a commonsense way to grow the economy.
