Friends,
Like so many others, I am heartbroken as our country reels over the murder of another Black American. But I know the pain I’m feeling is only a fraction of what Black communities have been experiencing for generations.
George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and those taken from their families too early deserve nothing less than accountability and justice. And the millions of Black Americans being treated as less than human because of their skin color don’t just deserve change -- they need it, and they need it now.
Peaceful protests across the country have been an important first step but have only cracked the door open for much needed change. We’re fighting against generations of oppression, but together, we can make a real difference.
The work does not end here, team. In fact, it is only just beginning. We must stand united with marginalized communities and stay focused on breaking the cycle of deep-rooted and structural racism. It is my responsibility -- and that of all our leaders -- to listen, learn, and commit ourselves to finding solutions that will result in meaningful change.
Thank you so much for demanding better with me. My prayers, my voice, and my actions are with those hurting right now.
In solidarity,
Anthony Brindisi
