Between 1950 and 1976, approximately 1,000 American citizens worked for Air America, a company publicly portrayed as a private entity conducting flight operations during the Cold War. However, now-declassified documents have confirmed that Air America was entirely owned and controlled by the U.S. government, meaning these courageous individuals were federal employees under the law during their time of service.
I am pleased to announce that I have reintroduced the bipartisan Air America Act in the 119th Congress. The legislation has already gained strong bipartisan support, with more than 90 cosponsors from both sides of the aisle. This bill will ensure that Air America employees who meet federal retirement eligibility criteria receive the benefits they rightfully earned. Additionally, those who do not meet the required years of service for retirement benefits will finally receive long-overdue recognition for their contributions carried out on behalf of the U.S. government.
Congress has previously enacted corrective legislation for other covert groups affiliated with the CIA, and it is only right that we now extend the same acknowledgment to Air Americans. These patriots risked, and in many cases gave, their lives in service to our country, bravely confronting communism alongside members of our Armed Forces.
I am grateful that so many of my colleagues have joined me in supporting this cause. It is time for Air Americans to be appropriately recognized and honored for their dedicated service.

This week, I had the pleasure of touring Neenah Foundry, a company with over 150 years of expertise in iron castings. With facilities in Neenah, WI, Lincoln, NE, and Miami, FL, Neenah Foundry remains an industry leader, producing high-quality iron castings ranging from manhole covers to specialized infrastructure products used nationwide.
During my tour, we discussed Neenah Foundry’s recent merger in January 2025 with Deeter Foundry and US Foundry. This merger combines each company's unique strengths, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and customer service capabilities. Together, these companies bring over 330 years of combined expertise to the table, reinforcing their reputation for reliability, precise manufacturing, and quality delivery to customers nationwide.
With distribution centers around the world, Neenah Foundry is well-equipped to serve customers anywhere, anytime. Thank you to the Neenah Foundry team for hosting me and taking the time to show me around the facility. Wisconsin is fortunate to have such an outstanding leader in the manufacturing industry right here in our district and state.
