Dear John,

Thursday I got on an airplane in El Paso, flew to DFW airport, took an Uber to Mansfield and held a Congressional town hall in the 6th Congressional District of Texas.

With little more than a day's notice, more than a hundred constituents of the 6th District came out and joined me in a conversation about the future of our country. We talked about DOGE, about Trump's unconstitutional challenge to the judiciary, about Democrats' inability to find a way forward, about the attacks on Texas teachers by our governor... and a whole lot more.

Their Congressman has refused to hold a town hall in Mansfield -- and so the only way to turn up the pressure on him is to help bring his constituents together to fight for accountability and action.

In addition to coming together at this critical time and making sure that members of Congress remember who they serve, we also are able to recruit into our volunteer ranks. In fact, a majority of those who showed up Thursday signed up to volunteer with Powered by People. That means more folks reaching, registering and turning out the voters we need to build long term political power in Texas.

I don't take a salary from Powered by People. Like thousands of our volunteers, I freely give my time and effort to the cause. But everything else -- the flights, the Uber, renting the event space and organizing our volunteers -- costs money. The more we raise, the more of these events we can hold, the more volunteers we can recruit and the more voters we can reach.

Please pitch in today to make sure we can keep up the fight!
