We all remember how terrible Trump’s first administration was for immigrant communities. He vilified us, split up our families, and threw kids in cages. It was an appalling time for immigrants and undocumented people.
Just two months into his second term, and he’s bringing back his cruelest policies.
Trump is cutting a deal with the owners of a private detention center in Texas — owners who donated to Trump’s campaign and have a history of abuse at their facilities. That’s right: Trump is putting our taxpayer dollars in the hands of his wealthy friends, all at the expense of immigrant communities.
This comes after Trump’s evil border czar said we need to restart family detention. And ICE officials are going into our community centers — schools, churches, and restaurants — to kidnap immigrants.
We can’t afford to wait — we need to act now. United We Dream Action is fighting back, calling out Trump’s inhumane policies and demanding Democrats in office protect migrant communities from mass kidnapping and indefinite detention.
