We're excited to be partnering with environmental fashion designer and activist Runa Ray for Threads of Peace, including a peace fashion show, peace flag exhibit, speeches & music, taking place on Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 24, in Washington, DC. We're looking for volunteer models to walk in the fashion show as part of the event! Are you interested in modeling? Please contact Runa at [email protected] for more information. In addition to the fashion show, Threads of Peace will include an exhibit displaying the Global Peace Flag Project. The peace flag canvases display artwork and messages of peace from 193 countries around the world. This initiative has already seen success with its exhibit at the United Nations in New York, and now we’re taking it to The Ellipse in front of the White House during Memorial Day weekend.

We'll also have music, spoken word poetry, and speeches from notable anti-war voices, including World BEYOND War’s own Executive Director David Swanson; Medea Benjamin, Co-Founder of CODEPINK; and Marjan Naderi, former D.C. Youth Poet Laureate (2020).
