Listening to your constituents isn’t just important, it’s quite literally the job of an elected official.
But National Republicans have forgotten who they work for. As public pressure to reverse their dangerous policies mounts, they’re refusing to host town halls and talk to their constituents.
I’ll tell you why: They’re cowards — every single one of them.
They can’t look you in the eyes and tell you what’s really going on in Washington. That they’re voting to cut Medicaid, take away your social security benefits, eliminate your job — all at the hands of a wannabe dictator and his unelected sidekick.
People are angry, and rightfully so. But it’s my job, and every public official’s job, to have the decency to listen and tell the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be.
While some of my colleagues can’t say the same, I want you to know this: I’m not afraid of you. Whether you have good or bad things to say, my town halls are a safe space, and I will always listen.
We need leaders with a backbone in positions of power. Will you chip in $25 to keep me on the road to make sure Michiganders are heard loud and clear in Congress?
