Dear friends,

Legislation to protect the safety, privacy, and dignity of women in correctional facilities has been signed into law!

Thank you to Gov. Tate Reeves, Rep. Gene Newman and the rest of the Mississippi legislature, and Alliance Defending Freedom for their crucial work to protect Mississippi women.

House Bill 188, the Dignity and Safety for Incarcerated Women Act, will:

✅ Mandate that restrooms, changing rooms, and sleeping quarters in correctional facilities be designated exclusively for males or females

✅ Mandate that incarcerated individuals can only access facilities designated for their biological sex.

Unfortunately, in the name of ‘inclusion,’ prisons around America have allowed ([link removed]) men to enter women’s private spaces. In just one story, at least eleven male convicts — many of whom committed violent crimes against women and children — are currently housed at Washington State’s women’s prison. That is just one story and one state. The details of sexual harrasment and rape are gruesome, and sad, that government officials allow this.

We will continue to protect all women in Mississippi!
