Yesterday, I returned to the White House for meetings and to join President Trump as he signed the Executive Order to shut down the Department of Education.

I was honored to be in the East Room for the signing of the Executive Order to close the Department of Education. Thank you, President Trump, for restoring education decisions to the states and local communities where they rightfully belong.

The Texas Senate Drew a Line in the Sand and Passed SB 3 to Ban All Forms of Intoxicating THC

Last month, I paid a surprise visit to a lottery store operated by a courier service owned by the sports betting company DraftKings. Within a week, the Texas Lottery Commission suddenly banned all courier services, and the Texas Rangers launched a broad-scope investigation into the Lottery Commission.

On Tuesday, I paid a surprise visit to another industry [[link removed]]. I stopped in several smoke and vape shops selling THC products.

On Wednesday, I held a press conference on the dangers of these THC products, and later that afternoon, the Texas Senate drew a line in the sand and passed SB 3 to ban all forms of intoxicating THC [[link removed]].

Since 2019, retailers across Texas have exploited a state agriculture law to sell life-threatening, unregulated forms of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) to Texans, including children. These stores, which often target children with their marketing, have popped up across the state, threatening the safety of our communities.

I named SB 3 a major legislative initiative of mine because I will not allow retailers to circumvent the law and put Texans’, and especially children’s, lives in danger. These rogue retailers are selling THC products containing several times more THC content than marijuana purchased from a drug dealer off the street. These dangerous products must not be allowed to permeate our communities and endanger Texas children.

We are moving rapidly to ensure all these bills, which reflect the will of the conservative majority of Texans, have ample time to pass the Texas House and arrive at Gov. Abbott’s desk to be signed into law. This session has started out with a hopeful working relationship with Speaker Burrows. Working together with the House, this could be the best session ever for all Texans and especially for conservatives.

Thank you for all your support over the years and for everything you do to keep Texas red. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
