Fraud Alert Friday: Identifying Waste, Fraud, and Abuse in the Federal Government

In case you missed it, "Fraud Alert Friday" highlights waste, fraud, and abuse occurring across the federal government.

Alert: This week, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced they have been working over the past two weeks to clean up millions of records in the Social Security Administration's databases by marking number-holders listed as over the age of 120 as being deceased. Approximately 3.2 million number holders were removed from the count.

According to DOGE's website, the group has saved American taxpayers $115 billion so far, breaking down to approximately $714.29 saved per taxpayer. To read more about the above alert, click here and see DOGE's social media post here.

In the News

Rep. Loudermilk on Just the News, No Noise: We Will Continue to Get Answers as our J6 Investigation Moves Forward

In case you missed it, this week, I sat down with John Solomon and Amanda Head for their show Just the News: No Noise to discuss several aspects of our January 6 investigation that deserve serious follow-up as we continue on in the 119th Congress. Specifically, we reviewed why the FBI needs to explain the actions they took on intelligence from confidential human sources embedded in the crowds on Jan. 6, U.S. Capitol Police security failures that day that have led to recent incidents, and so much more.

Rep. Loudermilk Joins Bipartisan Colleagues Urging Trump Administration to Address China's Suspension of Intercountry Adoption Program

The People's Republic of China (PRC) have halted all international adoptions through their intercountry adoption program, except those between blood relatives in August 2024. Approximately 300 children in the PRC had been matched with American families prior to this announcement.

That's why, this week, I joined a bipartisan group of my House and Senate colleagues in sending a letter to President Trump requesting he engage the Chinese government to finalize the pending adoption cases. This follows similar efforts I signed on to requesting former President Biden to intervene, urging the PRC to do the same.

Rep. Loudermilk Co-sponsors Legislation

This week, I co-sponsored several pieces of legislation. These bills are as follows:

  1. H.Res. 226 – Commemorating the centennial of Delta Airlines
    • Commemorates the 100th birthday of Delta Airlines.
  2. H.R. 2039 – Protecting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Act
    • Explicitly prohibits the President and Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) from declaring a national public health emergency to impose gun control and blocks officials from restricting the manufacturing, sale or transfer of firearms and ammunition during national crises. This ensures that public health authority cannot be misused to undermine Americans' Second Amendment rights.
  3. H.R. 1932 – Pay Our Troops Act
    • Ensures members of our military are paid in the event of a government shutdown. This legislation protects paychecks for members of the military, including the U.S. Coast Guard, as well as certain U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) civilian employees and contractors in the event of a lapse in federal appropriations.
