Email from Rep. Hinson Friend, I recently reintroduced my bipartisan, bicameral Securing American Agriculture Act to help reshore our agriculture supply chain. This will not only create good, domestic job opportunities, but it will ensure we do not rely on China for any aspect of our food supply. Click here to read more in Fox News China has intentionally captured a significant market share of America’s agricultural inputs, which are vital to our food supply chain. Iowa farmers have told me firsthand that if China decides to shut off U.S. access to these critical inputs, our food production would be in jeopardy. I’m proud to reintroduce this bipartisan bill that exposes and counters China’s grip on agricultural inputs to strengthen domestic manufacturing and food security. Plain and simple: we should bring our agriculture supply chain home. Best, Cracking Down on Illegal Chinese Operatives on U.S. Soil This week, I partnered with my friend Senator Tom Cotton to introduce the Expel Illegal Chinese Police Act following Communist China propping up illegal police stations in the U.S. last year. The CCP should have never been able to operate police stations in the U.S. to surveil American citizens and harass Chinese citizens who have fled the Communist regime. We should find, prosecute, and sanction any Chinese Communist Party official involved in standing up police stations on U.S. soil. On National Ag Day, I gave a shoutout to Fayette County’s own Tim and Darla Recker. The Reckers embody the hard work and dedication that make Iowa agriculture thrive. For families like theirs, farming isn't just a job—it’s a way of life. I’m thankful for their commitment to feeding and fueling our communities that keeps Iowa—and the world—going strong! As part of National Ag Week, I also thanked Iowa farmers Trish and Aaron Cook! The Cooks raise pigs on their family farm in Buchanan County and, like many farm families, are deeply involved in their community—volunteering with their local FFA chapter, staying active in their church, and serving in leadership roles on numerous boards and organizations. Their dedication to agriculture and rural Iowa is truly inspiring. Grateful for their hard work and advocacy for our pork producers! Lastly, I recognized Lance & Heidi Lillibridge of Benton County for their commitment to Iowa agriculture. The Lillibridges exemplify innovation and resilience, utilizing modern technology to improve their farm where they raise corn, soybeans, and red angus cattle. They have even hosted NASA scientists to learn more about how Iowa farmers are implementing precision agriculture tools to enhance their operations. Their perseverance through tough seasons and economic uncertainty is a testament to the resilience of Iowa’s farm families. Thank you, Lance and Heidi, for your contributions to our state and feeding communities near and far! Fighting to Secure Nationwide Year-Round E15 I am continuing to lead the charge to sell E-15 nationwide, year- round. I’ve said this before and I’ll say this again: it’s an all of the above, and all of the below strategy when it comes to leading in energy dominance, and biofuels should be front and center in this strategy. I will continue to advocate for Iowa’s biofuel producers and rural economy as we work to expand the nationwide use of biofuels. 2025 Congressional Art Competition Open to Iowa's Second District Students We are now accepting submissions for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition!
