Hi John —
It’s Senator Chris Murphy.
Like so many people across the country, my connection to gun violence is
personal.
It’s an issue that found me on December 14, 2012. I hadn’t even been sworn
into the U.S. Senate yet. I watched 26 families learn that their loved
ones — 20 children and six educators — were killed in a horrific school
shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
From that day on, I pledged to do everything in my power to fight to end
gun violence.
Nearly ten years later, on May 24, 2022, 19 fourth graders and two
teachers were killed in their elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.
That night, I went down to the Senate floor to beg my colleagues to find a
path forward. Just one month later, President Biden signed the Bipartisan
Safer Communities Act — the first piece of federal gun safety legislation
in 30 years. It’s provided millions of dollars for community violence
intervention programs, mental health support, school safety, and so much
more.
This wouldn’t have been possible without courageous young advocates from
organizations like March For Our Lives. After Uvalde, they hosted their
second March For Our Lives and lobbied hundreds of representatives to
force Congress’ hand.
Now, we’re up against an administration that doesn’t care about our lives.
They’re trying to tear down all the progress we’ve made.
March For Our Lives has always been on the front lines holding our leaders
accountable for their actions. They’re helping pass common sense gun
safety legislation across the country.

and it’s my honor to ask for your support today. Will you chip in

I will continue to fight for a future free of gun violence. I hope you’re
with me, John
.
Every best wish,

Your Personal Invite To the Movement Fund 💌💙
At March For Our Lives, we call our monthly supporter program The
Movement Fund.
Why are monthly recurring donors so important? The amount of one-time
individual donations we receive as an organization varies vastly from
month to month.
Without a steady stream of monthly donations coming in our door, it
would be impossible to accurately plan our budgets, create long-term
strategies to win a future free from gun violence, plan and execute
on-the-ground organizing efforts, recruit and train more gun safety
champions, and more.
[ [link removed] ]One of the best ways that you can help sustain our movement is by
becoming a recurring monthly donor. Can you sign up today?
