Email from Rep. Van Duyne I'm continuing to make it easier to transport lifesaving organs, this week I teamed up with Congressman Emanuel Cleaver (D-Missouri) Irving, TX – I hope you had a happy St. Patrick’s Day on Monday! I recently had a chance to spend time with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, Irish Ambassador Geraldine Bryne, Michael Flatley, and President Trump’s nominee for U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, Ed Walsh. The United States and Ireland have long enjoyed a special friendship, and I enjoyed discussing our shared history as well as opportunities to continue strengthening relations between our nations. It was wonderful to attend the Park Cities Quail Coalition dinner and auction where Jerry Jones was honored with the 2025 T. Boone Pickets Lifetime Sportsman Award. I was glad to see familiar faces from around Texas-24 as Jerry was recognized for his passion for quail and duck hunting! On Tuesday, I led a bipartisan group of 27 lawmakers in requesting Transportation Secretary Duffy’s support for improving the transportation of lifesaving organ donations. You can read more in my Work of the Week section below. Throughout the week, we’ve continued to see the positive impact of President Trump's focus on lowering costs, including through pro-energy policies that have resulted in lower prices at the pump. The below photo was taken at the Shell gas station at MacArthur and 635! We’ve also seen the prices of eggs drop – the picture below is from a local Kroger. I’m thankful for our Texas farmers and ranchers who have helped make this possible! I’m always happy to spend time with young North Texans! Recently, I met with Tatum, a high school senior who shared his interest in politics and desire to engage in public service. If you or your child are interested in getting involved in the programs offered through our office, you can visit our student program page on our website. After, I toured Darling Ingredients, the world’s leading developer and producer of sustainable organic ingredients, at their headquarters in Irving. We discussed their cutting-edge solutions to repurpose and recycle materials into essential ingredients like animal feed and plant fertilizer. Up next, I met with Corbin and George of Rise Run Capital! I appreciated hearing about their work to support family-owned businesses in our community by providing access to capital. In Congress, I’m working to expand access to private financing for our job creators. I had a great meeting with the National Athletic Trainers Association at their headquarters in Carrollton. During our roundtable discussion, I was able to learn more about the important role athletic trainers play in preventing, diagnosing, and treating injuries for North Texas athletes. With all the corporate headquarters and business meetings that happen in our region, our hotels and hospitality workers play an important role in maintaining our reputation as a great place to visit and do business. I’m so appreciative of the exceptional service and dedication of these men and women who are often some of the first and most frequent faces seen by visitors to our community. I was grateful for the chance to join local hoteliers for an event in Dallas where I had a chance to discuss our shared goals of promoting a strong, vibrant, and growing hospitality industry in North Texas. I had a very informative visit to SpaceX’s Starbase in Brownsville. It was great to visit this American company and learn about all of the amazing things they are doing right here in Texas! Great to tour the Lunar Lander and the Launch Pad. Texas-24 Work of the Week This week, as part of my continued effort to make it easier to transport lifesaving organs, I teamed up with Congressman Emanuel Cleaver (D-Missouri) to lead a bipartisan group of more than two dozen of our colleagues to improve the transportation of these gifts of life. Texas-24 Hometown Hero Our Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Dr. Katie Simpson of Southlake, a dedicated leader in our community who has continued to go above and beyond to support military families. She serves as a volunteer leader at the Texas Ramp Project, leads three textile ministries, and finds time to volunteer with her church and Metroport Meals on Wheels in Southlake. North Texas U.S. Service Academies Forum As a Member of Congress, I have the honor of nominating exceptional Texas-24 individuals to our nation’s service academies. I’m pleased to announce that the 2025 North Texas U.S. Service Academies Forum will take place on April 5, 2025. Learn more by clicking here or on the picture below.
