john,
This is outrageous. Republicans in Congress are trying to dismantle the Department of Education calling it “wasteful” and "unnecessary." But for kids across the district, this isn’t politics, this is their future.
For many students, their public school isn’t just a place to learn—it’s a lifeline. It’s where they get the one warm, healthy meal they can count on each day. It’s where they have access to special education services, school counselors, and the resources they need to succeed.
If Republicans get their way, federal funding for our schools will be cut and all our students need to thrive will be at risk. Students in rural and underserved communities will suffer the most. Teachers will have fewer resources, class sizes will grow, and kids will pay the price. But Kim refuses to let that happen, at least not without a fight.
As a pediatrician and as a mom, she knows what’s at stake—that’s why she’s fighting tooth and nail to protect the Department of Education and fight for fully funded public schools. But she can’t do this alone. We need to show these extremists that we won’t let them rob our kids of their futures. Will you chip in to help Kim fight back?
