John—

In June 2024, the US Surgeon General declared gun violence a public health crisis. Now, the Trump administration is trying to erase the evidence.

Trump doesn’t care about keeping our children safe from gun violence. Donate to fuel our efforts to combat his dangerous, anti-safety actions.

GIFFORDS Law Center has long advocated for this crisis to be addressed as a public health epidemic, so we can prioritize data-driven methods that stop gun violence before it occurs. Unfortunately, shortly after Trump took office, the Surgeon General’s advisory—and the livesaving information and resources it provided—was removed from the Department of Health and Human Services website.

But our experts were prepared for this moment. We saved the advisory, and have made it available to anyone who wants to access it.

Chip in today so we can make sure gun violence continues to be treated as the public health crisis it is.

$25 $50 $100 $250

Gun violence claims more than 125 American lives every day. It’s the number one killer of kids and teens in the US. We won’t let this destructive administration undo all our hardfought gun safety progress. Join us as we stand up for the safety of our families and communities.

Gratefully,
Kelly
