So, after the Senate and House pass our bills, we get a chance in crossover to consider the other's bills. There are two in particular you need to know about.
HB2880 is a good one. It prevents students from making an encampment or zone they can take over and disrupt the college campus. This is an appropriate and direct response to the antisemitic riots the Left undertook in 2023 and 2024, where Jewish students were attacked by radicalized leftist racists in these encampments.
It's inexcusable and a public safety hazard. It passed the Rules Committee in the Senate and I will vote for it when it comes to the floor.
HB 2295 is a real win- one of the very few times we have had bipartisan support this year! Kudos to my friend Sen. Mark Finchem for championing this bill.
This law makes it possible to change judges if one is being unreasonable or biased. The judges have a job to interpret the law, not to make the law- and as President Trump has seen too often, many of these judges think they are dictators in robes, with zero humility or respect for the law or the constitution.
Now, when a judge oversteps, a new one can be requested. I voted for this to pass out of my Judiciary Committee.
The big thing I need the people of Arizona to understand is that we are working hard to solve problems- with bipartisan support of we can.
It isn't right to have Jewish student attacked by extreme leftists on college campuses. It also isn't right to have runaway judges with no respect for the law.
