Spend Baby Spend - Legislative Update

Dear friends and neighbors,

It has been another busy week as we are right in the middle of session. We are now tied 67-67 which means that each time we meet in committee we switch off with the House Democrats for who is the chair of the committee that day. This week we started hearing Democrat bills and all they want to do is spend more money.

This week I received the 2025 Legislator of the Year award from the Minnesota Ambulance Association. This award was presented during the Minnesota Ambulance Association Stars of Life Event on March 18, 2025 in St Paul.

Visitors

Thank you to everyone who visited this week.

I met with Linda Hood, who was Ms. Wheelchair Minnesota 2022. We talked about adult pulldown tables in disability bathrooms. It was great meeting with her and discussing priorities for people with disabilities!

Met with some constituents and talked about key initiatives and successes of Public Health in West Central Minnesota.

Met with Tyler Bevins and Travis Bevins who were here with the Boys and Girls Club of White Earth!

We visited about policies to protect and strengthen Minnesota Long-Term Facilities.

Met with Bruce who lives in Ottertail County. We visited about policies that would help the farming economy in Minnesota.

Met with Productive Alternatives which is a private non-profit human services agency that has been providing programming for individuals with disabilities since 1958. They offer day services at locations in Fergus Falls, Perham, Alexandria, Hoffman, and Brainerd.

I met with The Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. We discussed their legislative priorities!
