As I’m writing this, I’m getting ready to join our partners in California to celebrate what God is doing there, and to share some powerful stories of incarcerated women!
As you may know, Create: New Beginnings is a series of art workshops that is part of our intensive in-prison programming for women. Our participants’ testimonials are too good not to share, and I want to give you a glimpse:
I painted mountain tops and valleys, and I painted a beautiful sunrise on the backside of the mountains. Because no matter what, if I’m in the valley or if I’m on the mountains, Jesus walks with me.
—Lynn, California
Not only does it get us off the yard for a little while and out of all that chaos, but we get to come and get some peace of mind. The thing that I drew today is where I came from, the anger and the sadness. … The tears made this beautiful flower grow into what I am today. And I’m forgiving.
—Julie, Oklahoma
It brings my connection back [to] God, my faith, my trust, and my belief.
—Tamara, Colorado
Our incarcerated brothers and sisters in Christ understand that no life is beyond God’s reach. He can meet us anywhere, and I believe you will encounter Him throughtrue stories like these. What He has done in the hearts of these men and women, He can do in yours, too.
Your support makes stories of transformation possible. Thank you for helping to change lives across more than 40 states, reaching people with the power of the Gospel and a vision for a new way to live.
