Team,

The Trump administration is threatening health care for millions of Michiganders.

This week, I sat down with Governor Gretchen Whitmer for a round table discussion with local pediatric leaders and children’s health care providers to hear from them about the real, serious impacts they expect to see from cuts to Medicaid.

Right now, 2.6 million Michiganders benefit from Medicaid coverage. The Republican party’s plan to cut Medicaid would leave 2.6 million uninsured and paying out-of-pocket for health care they can’t afford. Health care is a human right in the United States, not a privilege.

Every day, I’m working with the people of my district to navigate the challenges Trump is throwing at us, like the Veterans Affairs (VA) layoffs and the funding cuts and freezes that are directly impacting our universities and thousands of Americans.

Americans deserve better. Michiganders are the heart of the American Dream and work hard to provide for themselves and their families. We can’t allow the American Dream to turn into an ultra-wealthy nightmare, where hardworking people struggle to afford health care, housing, and education, and have their paychecks cut for billionaires’ tax breaks.

The Trump Administration may only care about the top 1% of the country, but I’m working to protect the families who are hurting directly from these actions. Will you stand with me today by making a contribution to fuel my work fighting for hardworking Michiganders in Congress?
