Tomorrow is World Water Day and a call to action as surging demand for water and climate-driven water challenges intensify across the globe.

I witnessed the devasting costs of these extremes earlier this year from my home in Los Angeles, where wildfires caused loss of life and billions in damages. This disaster really underscored the urgent need for more resilient infrastructure and water systems. Read more about how policies and the private sector can help future-proof our nation’s water infrastructure in my latest article in Trellis < [link removed] > .

Ambitious action from investors and companies is critical to avert increasing water challenges and financial risks. Ceres is supporting more than 100 global investors working with large companies to safeguard clean water for communities, ecosystems, and their business operations and supply chains.

Some companies are developing innovative solutions that are helping guide water stewardship in their industries. Industry representatives and investors will join me to explore how tech companies are using AI and other technologies to help curb water risks in their operations.

With each passing year, the potential for water challenges to disrupt communities, nature, and economic stability grows clearer. But bold action from all stakeholders—investors, companies, government, and communities—can move us closer to a water secure and resilient future.Thank you, [Image alt text: Headshots 150x150 James]
