As a father and former teacher, I know firsthand how important strong public schools are for our kids and our communities. But yesterday, Donald Trump signed an executive order to dismantle the Department of Education.

Defunding the Department of Education means gutting support for students with disabilities, underfunding public schools, and making college even less affordable. It’s an attack on every student, every teacher, and every family who relies on a quality public education.

Why? Because Trump would rather steal money from our kids to fund tax giveaways for his billionaire donors.

Congress has the power to stop this. I will continue fighting for our kids and our schools – but I need your support. Can you chip in $10, $25, or whatever you can to join the fight?
