Support Girls For A Change in helping young Black girls break barriers and thrive in creative industries!
After a pause due to the pandemic, Girls For A Change is thrilled to revive the Creative Industry Camp, a transformative program designed to provide Black girls with access to creative spaces where they have historically lacked visibility due to limited opportunities, resources, and funding.

The impact of Black creatives is undeniable, as highlighted in Reflections on the Impact of Black Creatives ([link removed]) . Yet, many young Black women lack the support needed to pursue these careers. This program ensures they have the tools, exposure, and resources to thrive.

Spring Break Camp: April 1-5, 2025
We are taking 12 high school girls from our Immersion Lab ([link removed]) and
Peer Advisor ([link removed]) programs to New York City to participate in exclusive workshops, panels, and hands-on experiences led by creative industry professionals and corporate partners.

This is more than just a trip. It’s a career-building experience

This experience will provide:
* Workshops & training led by creative industry professionals
* Networking & mentorship to build lasting connections
* Professional development with attire, branding, and presentation training
* College tours to explore educational opportunities
* Panel discussions & Q&A Sessions with industry leaders
* Hands-on creative activities in various fields

** Virginia Neighborhood Assistance Credits

Girls For A Change is an approved non-profit organization for the 2024-2025
Virginia Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). For a minimum gift of $500, an individual donor may be eligible to receive a 65% tax credit against his or her Virginia state income tax. The maximum allowable individual gift is $125,000. For businesses: $616 is the minimum donation eligible for tax credits in their taxable year. There is no maximum donation limitation for businesses.

Unlike a tax deduction, a tax credit reduces a donor’s tax bill dollar-for-dollar. For example, a $2,000 donation to Girls For A Change using this program would generate $1,300 in tax credits, so the donation would only “cost” the donor $700. When the tax credits are combined with the federal charitable deduction, the donation “cost” lowers even further.
