Violence has resumed in Gaza, and women and girls continue to suffer.
Airstrikes have resumed in the region this week, killing hundreds of civilians — mostly women and children.
During the ceasefire, UNFPA worked against immense odds to restore some services for women and girls, including providing makeshift health centers after the war destroyed hospitals in the region.
The resumption of hostilities means delivering lifesaving aid is that much harder, leaving thousands of pregnant women and infants without proper care. The blockade on aid means children in the region are going without food and lifesaving medication. The situation is dire, and UNFPA is doing everything possible to provide support in the region.
Women and girls in Gaza and beyond need our urgent assistance. Please rush an emergency gift to help UNFPA provide lifesaving aid while the violence continues.
We condemn the violence in Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, and hope for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire, the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas, and an end to the violence. The suffering must end and peace must prevail.
