Back to Some Convicts
Trump’s DOJ just enacted a rule that could allow dangerous individuals to obtain firearms, setting the stage for prohibited purchasers – including convicted domestic abusers – to have their gun rights restored on a large scale without necessary guardrails. While countless American lives would be put at risk, who benefits? The gun industry.
This is yet another example of Trump's loyalty to gun industry profits over the lives of every citizen in our country, and we will not remain silent while he blatantly disregards life-saving gun laws. Will you add your name to Brady’s urgent petition to lawmakers to stop the President's dangerous agenda? >> [[link removed]]

Friend,
Last week, it was convicted domestic abuser Mel Gibson’s gun rights, this week it’s people en masse convicted of violent felonies.
Trump is going against decades of bipartisan Congressional action.
He’s going against public safety and the will of the American people.
And he’s doing it all to benefit his crony friends and gun lobby supporters.
Trump’s Department of Justice just published a rule that gives the Attorney General – Trump loyalist Pam Bondi – sole authority to restore gun rights to prohibited individuals — including individuals convicted of felonies and domestic abuse.
This rule paves the way for mass restoration of gun rights without necessary guardrails, putting all of our lives at greater risk of gun violence.
We cannot accept a president who has the audacity to put gun industry profits over public safety. And we will not remain silent while the Trump Administration continues to undermine life-saving laws and precedent while making gun industry executives richer, please:
Urge your lawmakers to stop the president from haphazardly restoring gun rights to domestic abusers and other prohibited purchasers. >> [[link removed]]

Friend , this is a plan bolstered by the gun industry, hoping to open up a market that was previously unavailable to them: People who can’t legally own firearms. This administration may tout being ‘tough on crime,’ but they are clearly primarily concerned with the gun industry’s bottom line.
The truth is that putting guns in the hands of domestic abusers will lead to more death , friend . The mere presence of a firearm in a domestic violence situation increases the risk of a person being killed by 400%. Congress and even the Trump dominated Supreme Court agree that convicted domestic abusers should not have the right to possess a firearm.
If and when gun rights are restored to an individual, it needs to be through a robust and thoughtful system that minimizes the risk to public safety. Yet the Trump administration has shown us they have no such discretion, including by restoring gun rights to violent January 6 insurrectionists who viciously assaulted police officers protecting the U.S. Capitol.
We will not stand by while this administration manipulates the DOJ to undermine gun violence prevention efforts and put lives at risk. I’m counting on grassroots activists to speak out today and advocate for the safety of the American people. Please, add your name to our urgent petition and tell lawmakers to stop President Trump from restoring gun rights to domestic abusers and putting lives at risk. >> [[link removed]]
