Greetings,
We are hard at work moving bills through committees that reflect the priorities of Minnesotans. This week, two of my bills advanced to make daily life easier and strengthen our economy.
Allowing Gas Stations to Serve Both 91 Octane and Racing Fuel
1 [ [link removed] ]
Outdated state regulations have prevented gas stations from selling both 91-octane fuel and non-oxygenated racing fuel, creating unnecessary hurdles for consumers, businesses, and the racing community. This has been an issue around Elko Speedway, and I learned other parts of the state. When Kwik Trip opened a gas station near the track, they discovered state law prohibited them from offering both fuels—a problem not just for classic car owners and racers who rely on either premium fuel or race fuel, but citizens who prefer premium fuel to preserve small engines like common golf carts, lawn mowers, snowmobiles, and more.
My bill passed through the Commerce Committee. It would eliminate this restriction and allow businesses like Kwik Trip to better serve their communities. By cutting through needless red tape, we’re making sure that businesses can meet customer needs without unnecessary government interference. This is a win for local businesses, car enthusiasts, and the entire community.
*The extra fuel option is not mandatory, but when passed, is permissive if a new or existing station wants to add more fuel options.*

Investing in Small Manufacturers & Strengthening Minnesota’s Economy
3 [ [link removed] ]
Minnesota’s small and mid-sized manufacturers are a major driver of our economy, supporting good-paying jobs and local communities across the state. Many of these businesses have used strategic planning and efficiency improvements to grow, retain jobs, and compete—but these investments aren’t always easy for small manufacturers to afford.
I’m honored to carry a bill that invests in the *Made in Minnesota* program, which helps small manufacturers access business-building services like lean manufacturing training, workforce development, and process improvements. This program matches private investment with state grants, ensuring companies have the support they need to thrive and succeed as they grow and expand.
With our state facing economic uncertainty in manufacturing, programs like this are a proven way to strengthen our economy while delivering a high return on investment. I look forward to continuing to push for bipartisan support and ensure our state remains a strong home for manufacturing jobs.
Recently, *Enterprise Minnesota* did a story, featuring me, that covers the importance of this program. You can read that story here. [ [link removed] ]

Budget talks will likely begin soon. We have our work cut out for us, but I remain committed to working hard for the needs of our community and the State.
On another note, hopefully, your *March Madness Bracket* hasn’t busted yet. I’ll be rooting for my Daughter’s Kansas Jayhawks as they take on Arkansas in the first round.
Have a good weekend!
