Parents today face unprecedented challenges to their authority.

Many once-trusted professionals like doctors, teachers and
administrators are no longer allies in raising our children.

Thankfully, they don't have the final word in how we raise our
children.

You and I have God-given rights to direct the healthcare, education,
and spiritual development of our kids.

But while these parental rights are protected by the Constitution,
some schools still don't see it that way.

Right now, a school in Encinitas, California is forcing 5th graders to
teach impressionable kindergarteners that their gender is determined
by how they feel-not biology.

Even if the kids involved believe that boys are boys and girls are
girls.

Worse still, the principal and teachers involved are keeping parents
completely in the dark about these types of lessons.

And when they were confronted by our clients, the Encinas family, they
refused to agree to notify them or any other parents about upcoming
lessons that might conflict with their religious beliefs. They also
refused to allow any students to opt out.

Unfortunately, the issues being faced by the Encinases are not unique
to the Encinases.

Schools in states like California, Washington and New York continue to
trample on the rights of parents to raise their children according to
sincerely-held religious beliefs.

That's why First Liberty is fighting for dads like Carlos and
his kids. A victory in their case could help set a precedent that
would force schools to respect the religious beliefs of parents and
students.
