You are invited to submit a proposal to present at the 2025 Michigan Sustainability Conference (MISCON) [ [link removed] ] in Grand Rapids, Michigan, November 6-7.

*SUBMISSION DEADLINE: APRIL 27, 2025*

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is seeking diverse speakers to share their work advancing sustainability. MISCON is Michigan’s one-of-a-kind event designed for sustainability business professionals, government professionals, environmental staff, environmental health and safety staff, and community leaders to:


* Learn new tactics about efficient ways to map out next steps in your sustainability journey. 
* Understand how leading brands and communities are successfully embedding environmental and social purpose into their values. 
* Discover grant funding opportunities. 
* Find inspiration and peer support by meeting fellow change agents. 
* Discover best practices through peer-to-peer learning sessions. 
* Network with local leaders who are looking to form partnerships. 

This year’s conference sessions will highlight Food Waste Reduction and Diversion, and proposals for sessions related to this topic are highly encouraged for submission. This includes but is not limited to composting, food rescue, food waste source reduction, food upcycling, food waste reduction technology, and food waste education. Additional topics must fit the following general topic areas related to sustainability:


* Food Waste - Prevention, Recovery, Diversion
* Technical
* Communications
* Green Communities 
* Research and Innovation 
* Renewable Energy and Alternate Fuels 
* Social Impacts 
* Employee Culture 
* Local Government 
* Public/Private Partnerships 
* Public Health 
* Sustainability 101 
* Climate 
* Recycling Market Development
* Green Healthcare

Authors of accepted presentations will be notified in June.
