John, it’s the Iowa Senate Democrats.

The College Basketball tournament has begun, and everyone knows what kind of madness that can bring. However, this year, Republicans in the Iowa Senate are attempting their own type of madness.

Let’s take a look at the GOP’s “bad bill” bracket this year:

This isn’t a winning bracket, and it’s our job as Democrats to make sure it gets busted. In this bracket, nobody wins. Every Iowan loses. 

Iowa Senate Democrats have a winning strategy in place. We’ve introduced legislation to provide paid family leave, expand unemployment, address our housing crisis, and more. And we’ve already seen this strategy pay off with the biggest upset of the year, when our “Cinderella story” Mike Zimmer won his special election in a district Trump won by 21 points! 

Now it’s time for us to go on offense, and end this Republican madness. With your help, we can begin supporting Senate Democratic candidates across the state who can pull off some more upsets come November 2026.
