Have you ever wondered why the progressive Left cares so much about school boards in America? Well, it turns out they have a lot of good reasons…
49 million of them, actually.
That’s the number of children and teens in American public schools. Their impressionable minds, morals, and worldviews are heavily influenced by the 82,000 school board members who set the direction in more than 13,000 school districts nationwide––including decisions around:
- What curriculum will be taught (or radical agendas indoctrinated)
- Whether parents are able to opt their children out of objectionable content
- Whether schools are allowed to hide a child’s transgender identity from parents
- Whether males are allowed on girls’ teams and in girls’ private spaces
The Left knows if they can control school board members, they can shape the minds of those 49 million vulnerable students...and the future of our country. That’s why they pour millions of dollars into school board elections––as well as programs that train school board members after they’re elected.
As a result, even staunch conservatives who get elected to school boards are quickly overwhelmed and underprepared to face the onslaught of pressure from the Left.
And it gets worse. Recent reports reveal that Planned Parenthood is specifically targeting school boards, even going so far as to fund candidates in school board races in order to push radical sex education and transgender ideology onto students––and cut out parental involvement in the process.
But Family Policy Alliance Foundation is fighting back.

Our top-notch faculty equips conservative school board members with the training and resources they need to stand up for their Christian values in the face of gender ideology, DEI, harmful sex ed, and much more.
And John, the results from the School Board Academy have been remarkable. We have now trained school board members in nearly every state, and our graduates report relief at finally having professional support from a Christian worldview. After completing the training, school board members receive ongoing advice, connections, and resources––including a growing library of model school board policies on DEI, gender issues, parental rights, and much more.
And we’re only getting started.
This year, tens of thousands of school board seats will be up for election...and that means people of faith have an enormous opportunity to make an impact.
Most candidates for school board elections have never run for office before––and they need connections, resources, and training to stand up to the opposition and run an effective campaign. Our new resource, the Christians Engaged Campaign School, ensures that conservative school board candidates receive the guidance they need on the nuts and bolts of running a successful campaign.
The radical Left is pushing back hard against the Trump administration’s reforms, including challenging executive orders around pushing DEI and gender ideology in classrooms––and we must double our efforts to reclaim school boards and protect our vulnerable children.
