Dear John
I’m excited to invite you to London Green Party’s conference. As we begin the year leading up to London’s council elections, join Green Party members and supporters from across the capital for a day of talks, political discussion, training and movement building.
When: Saturday 10 May, 10am-5pm
Where: Birkbeck College, Malet Street, London WC1E 7HX
Green members of the London Assembly Zoë Garbett, Caroline Russell and Zack Polanski will speak about how we’ve made a difference at City Hall, and how we can build on our fantastic general election results, when we not only won four MPs around the country, but came second in 18 seats in London.
We’ll be meeting just after the county council elections have delivered the first verdict from voters on Labour since that election, and whether Reform has been able to capitalise on the government’s failure to deliver real change. I’m pleased to say that economist and activist Faiza Shaheen will be among the guest speakers joining us to analyse the situation, along with the host of the popular Macrodose podcast, James Meadway. We’ll also hear from Charlotte Minvielle, of the French Greens, Les Écologistes, on what we can learn from their experience of fighting the far right and their recent success.
More speakers will be announced soon, but do book your place now and don’t miss this chance to skill up, be inspired and learn from each other.
After a morning of training, we’ll be opening up the afternoon to non party members, so it’s the perfect opportunity to invite friends along who are considering getting involved.
Finally, although we are trying to cover the costs of the event by charging for tickets, there is a free option available - see instructions on the booking page.
I hope you can make it.
