Long before I ran for the Senate, I was an investigative journalist exposing war crimes, crooked judges, sexual slavery by ISIS, contract killers, and human traffickers.

When I decided to run, my goal was to mount a ruthless assault on corruption in our political system — corruption we see everywhere from high prescription drug prices to stock profiteering in Congress.

I was going up against an entrenched Republican incumbent from a political dynasty.
