Today’s newsletter covers defensive gun use, self-defense laws, and a new Texas bill that could bring firearm safety education into schools. Plus, in the latest episode of my airport firearm declaration series, I had a small TSA hiccup—nothing major, but a reminder that staying calm and polite makes all the difference.
Also, if you prefer listening to these articles instead of reading, don’t forget to check out the USA Carry Podcastwhere I go over these stories in audio format:
When Declaring Firearms at the Airport Doesn't Go Perfectly – Episode 12 – Had to remind the agent the declaration form goes inside, got some attitude from a supervisor about TSA locks, and TSA had to call me back to open my rifle case since it was too big for the X-ray machine. Handled it all politely, and everything worked out fine.
