Dear Friend,
The events of the last week and a half have shaken us all to our cores. For many, it’s a deeply tragic reminder of the discrimination they face every day. For the rest of us, it is an important reminder that we must do better and that we must be an active and engaged part of the effort to heal the wounds of longstanding systemic inequalities.
To continue this discussion and outline expected Congressional action, I’m honored to announce that Representative Barbara Lee will join this week’s Virtual Town Hall to be held tomorrow, Thursday, June 4 at 4:30pm PT. She will also discuss legislation she plans to introduce to create a United States Commission on Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation. She’s been working her whole life and career to tackle these systemic problems and I’m humbled to have her join our Town Hall this week.
This event will be held over the video conferencing platform, Zoom, which has a capacity of 500 participants.
