Dear Neighbor, I hope you are well! This week I would like to share with you information about another License Plate Restoration Event, a thank you message to the Lower Providence Fire Department and assisting units for containing last week’s brush fire, a special visit in Harrisburg from Pope John Paul II’s championship-winning volleyball team, an Eagle Scout Court of Honor my staff attended, Real ID Days information, and more!

As always, I hope you find the information below informative and useful.

Lower Providence Brush Fire

Last weekend, our community experienced a brush fire in the Betzwood area of Lower Providence Township. Thank you to the Lower Providence Fire Department and each assisting unit who acted quickly to contain the fire. In situations like this, it’s important we acknowledge the professionalism, countless hours of training, and volunteer work our first responders dedicate to keep us safe and avoid major catastrophes.

Upcoming Observances

Women’s History Month – March

March means it’s Women’s History Month! We’re honoring the achievements women have made throughout history and continue to make today that help shape and move our country forward. Put some time aside this month to celebrate a woman you know and learn something new about women’s history!

Equal Pay Day – March 25

Next Tuesday, March 25, is Equal Pay Day. The American Association of University Women determined that women working full time make roughly 83% of what men earn, and the number dips to 75% for part-time and seasonal workers. For other groups of women, including disabled and women of color, the gender pay gap widens. Recognizing the pay gap women face and continuing the conversation, advocacy, and push for fair pay is key to closing it.
