Our candidates keep winning!

More great news from our first Pride Primaries, John: THREE of our non-incumbent LGBTQ candidates WON their state legislative races in New Mexico and one still remains too close to call!

This is huge news – we’re on track to DOUBLE and maybe even TRIPLE LGBTQ representation in the New Mexico legislature. Roger Montoya, Leo Jaramillo and Carrie Hamblen are in safe districts and are almost certain to win in November, and both Leo and Carrie defeated an anti-choice incumbent! Chip in now to keep the momentum going!

We were proud to contribute to Planned Parenthood Votes NM Coordinated Committee’s election efforts to build a pro-choice Democratic state Senate and House. We also provided campaign, fundraising and media support to the candidates, earning them national media attention!

But if we’re going to keep fighting for pro-equality and pro-choice voices and dramatically increase LGBTQ representation in New Mexico, we’ve got a lot of work to do. New Mexico only has 10 openly LGBTQ elected officials in the entire state – far too few! And Rebecca Stair's race is still to close to call. If all our candidates WIN, we can double and maybe even triple LGBTQ representation in the state legislature. Chip in TODAY!

Thanks again for your support. Let’s keep winning!

LGBTQ Victory Fund has helped thousands of openly LGBTQ candidates win elections up and down the ballot, from sea to shining sea since our founding in 1991. We believe representation is power so we elected U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin and Kyrsten Sinema, Governors Jared Polis and Kate Brown, all seven LGBTQ members of U.S. Congress and countless candidates for state and local government, including Virginia Delegate Danica Roem, Colorado state Representative Leslie Herod and Pennsylvania Assemblymember Brian Sims. And with an unprecedented number of LGBTQ people running for office in this year, we’ll need your support to make 2020 the next Rainbow Wave.
