John,
In just one day, we organized against a Texas House Bill targeting our work—and that resulted in YOU sending 3,850 emails to lawmakers, urging them to reject this blatant power grab.
That’s why we organize–because, in true Texan form, we show up big.
Yesterday, the Texas House Intergovernmental Affairs Committee heard testimony on HB 524, a dangerous bill that would give Attorney General Ken Paxton the power to veto local elections. This unconstitutional attack is designed to shut down the work of Ground Game Texas and strip voters of their right to decide on critical issues in their communities.
The Ground Game Texas team, along with our friends Ananda Tomas, Executive Director of ACT4SA, and Eric Martinez, Executive Director of Mano Amiga, showed up at the Capitol yesterday to speak with committee members and explain why it’s so important that this bill does not move forward.
Paxton and his cronies haven't been able to beat us at the ballot box, and they haven't been able to beat us in court. With your continued support, we're going to make sure they don't beat us at the lege, either.
John, you chip in $25 to power our movement? A sustaining $25 per month helps us continue to build at the local level, while defending our victories in court and at the Capitol.
