Dear friend,
Since taking office, the Trump-Vance administration has issued executive orders targeting immigrant communities and schools as sanctuaries of learning—but students and organizers are fighting back. Students, community members, and even school officials are banding together to ensure every student is safe at school regardless of reckless policies.
Taking the lead from grassroots organizers, the National Campaign for Police Free Schools has released the Protecting Immigrant Students Action Kit [[link removed]] . This resource provides students, parents, teachers, and advocates with the tools to demand that school districts protect immigrant students and families. Including:
📚 Explainers on how federal, state, and local actions threaten immigrant communities.
📝 Model policies and resolutions that schools can adopt to counter those actions and ensure schools remain safe and welcoming places for all.
📣 Tools for organizers to push schools to adopt these policies.
💪🏾 Model School Protocols and Know Your Rights resources so students and school administrators know what to do if ICE shows up at your school.
On Wednesday, March 26 at 6:00 pm ET/3:00 pm PT , join the National Campaign for Police Free Schools for the Protecting Immigrant Students Webinar . This webinar will share strategies from our new Action Kit and highlight the work of organizers working to create safe and welcoming schools for all.
